NCIPH Foundations in Integrative Health

The University of Arizona Center Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine (AWCIM) and the Academic Consortium for Integrative Medicine & Health (The Consortium) in cooperation with the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) created the National Center for Integrative Primary Healthcare (NCIPH).
Foundations in Integrative Health Online Curriculum

A 31.6-hour interprofessional integrative health (IH) online curriculum, Foundations in Integrative Health (FIH), was developed for primary care educational programs based on the core IH competencies for interprofessional primary care teams developed by the InPLT. A needs assessment survey administered to primary care and other healthcare professions' educational training programs identified curriculum priorities and content areas common across primary care and other healthcare professions. The curriculum content addresses identified gaps in IH knowledge and skills. This introductory curriculum sets the foundation of developing a core set of integrative healthcare (IH) competencies and resources for the variety of health professionals who work in primary care, such as direct and lay health care workers.
The 31.6-hour institutional version curriculum of courses includes:
- Introduction to Interprofessional Integrative Health in Primary Care
- Prevention and Lifestyle Behavior Change Through Interprofessional Collaborative Practice
- Interprofessional Healthcare Wellbeing
- Addressing Primary Care Patients Through an Interprofessional/Integrative Lens
- Collaborative Interprofessional Integrative Interventions
- Interprofessional Practice in Community Settings and Systems at Large

The curriculum is offered as individual courses with courses 1 & 2 combined into a single bundled price. Both the institutional version and individual courses are accredited and offer continuing education (CE) credits listed below.
