Leslie McGee is a registered nurse and nationally certified acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist (NCCAOM). She received her BS in nursing from the University of Washington in 1978. Several years of nursing convinced her that there was more to healing than what was available in the allopathic world. In 1993 she received her masters degree in Oriental medicine from the International Institute of Chinese Medicine in Santa Fe, NM, focusing on both acupuncture and Chinese herbology. Her teachers included Nancy Zeng, Kezhuang Zhao, and Dagmar Ehling.
Since 1993 Leslie has been in private practice in Tucson, AZ. In 1998 she completed a course in TCM gynecology with Bob Flaws. Other pursuits have included working in an NIH funded study on acupuncture for the treatment of depression at the University of Arizona. In addition, she teaches at the Desert Institute for the Healing Arts and the Asian Institute of Medical Studies.
When not engaged in keeping these various projects afloat, Leslie loves to bicycle tour.
